Comprehensive Driving Evaluations
This process begins with the CDRS evaluating a person’s fitness to drive. This evaluation is used to assess an individual’s current level of driving ability and, if appropriate, to predict the effectiveness of future intervention. This includes a clinical assessment (physical function, vision, visual perception, cognition, etc.) and a Behind The Wheel assessment in a real-time, on-road driving environment. Adaptive equipment, if needed, is selected and introduced at this time.
Driver Training and Licensing
Drivers who may benefit from additional time to recover a lost skill and/or to learn to drive with adaptive equipment are recommend for training. Once proficient, the CDRS will support you through the formal licensing process and connect you with qualified vehicle modifiers near you!
Community Mobility Solutions
Unique barriers can make way for unique solutions. Let’s discuss alternative methods of transportation to keep your life moving. We can assist in integrating private and public transit, rideshare’s, and related travel options.
Meet Your Evaluator
I’m Christine! A Houston girl through and through! I earned my B.S. in Health Science from the University of Houston and went on to obatin my Master of Occupational Therapy degree at Texas Womans University. I was afforded an awesome fieldwork opportunity in driver rehabilitation in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating in 2017, I was eager to get back home and get involved! I became a Certified Driving Rehab Specialist in 2020 and am loving every minute of helping my client’s get into the driver's seat.
